TRAINING NOTES

As a coach it is my job to teach you now and then so you can think about what you are doing out there.

You have probably all heard of the female triad in sport. Did you know that has been tossed out the window for a more comprehensive definition of how energy deficiencies affect us. It is called RED-S, or relative energy deficiency in sport and is defined as: The syndrome of RED-S refers to impaired physiological function including, but not limited to, metabolic rate, menstrual function, bone health, immunity, protein synthesis, cardiovascular health caused by relative energy deficiency.
